The Eve of Adventure

Tomorrow is Easter Monday, and a Bank holiday in the United Kingdom. Happily, it’s the first of 5 days holiday for me, because I took the chance to book the others off, and have a little time with my wife to be (I work away from home and so our time is usually limited to weekends. Not ideal.), her parents are visiting too, and she sees them even less often, so I am going to give them some quality time together and also have a little proper time to myself, which of course means camping!

So here I am on the night before an early start to my adventure. My gear is packed. My route is planned and, for the sake of safety, route card also printed for my partner, and emailed to my Father so that others know where I am. Train tickets booked and collected. Camera charged, slightly bodged method of attaching my tripod to my bag achieved, hip flask filled – there is nothing else to do.

Except wait.

The morning cannot come soon enough.

  1. What a wonderful feeling!

It’s a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there’s no knowing where you might be swept off to!
