I find it hard to express how stunning I think zebras are
I shot this at around 70 mm, with a fast aperture because I wanted to fully remove any background distraction. The background was quite light in colour anyway, and so it was easy to merge it into just solid white. I have deliberately kept the eye midway up the image, but off centre because this creates a little dynamism – the main interest point isn’t where the “rules” say it should be, so you hunt for it. Isolating such a small area of the zebra’s face, and the white negative space makes a very powerful fine art image of this gorgeous animal.
Magnificent animals and beautiful photograph.
