The Real Macaw

I am very lucky that locally I have the fantastic Attenborough Nature Reserve, Twycross Zoo and Tropical Bird Land!

I love taking the opportunity to visit these places, and the proximity they allow to animals that otherwise would be very difficult to photograph. They have the added benefit of educating old and young, and much of their profit goes to supporting conservation.

Bird land is a remarkable place, allowing their large collection of parrots to fly free because they always return to the safety of their cages with a guaranteed supply of food… Which allows for wonderful photo opportunities such as the one I had with this very handsome chap, sat in the branches of a piece of very typical English woodland!
