A few years ago I went to the Midlands Railway Centre with my wife for a Victorian themed railway event.
I’ve been interested in steam locomotives since I was a child, so an event like this is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy being around these engineering marvels, but also a great chance for some photography. As it was a Victorian themed day, everyone was in period dress, which made for some fantastic opportunities. My favourite image of the day is the little, newly restored saddletank engine preparing to take many of the gathered guests on a ride to the next station in restored Victorian era coaches:
I’ve had many enjoyable visits to this museum, it really is worth a visit if you have an interest in locomotives or rail travel – or like me, you can’t resist a decent photo opportunity!
